(chuckles madly to self) I'm wondering what the best ratio of wieght to arm length? Couldn't find anything in the books I've read. Any ideas? he's got an interesting design not like the traditional ones but it seems to make sense their is less work for the counterwight to do by falling straight down instead of swinging. I've got a friend building one of these for fun. I'm building a torsion type catapult against his trebuchet. I'm basing it on the onager design. I've already built a desktop model with two nylon cords for the bundle. shoots marbles pretty good! once I get the sling made I won't be able to shoot it in the house anymore. If you go to that first trebuchet site that I gave and check out the lnks section you can see team carbo's onager. they've also got a great link to this place called "knights armory" it has great blueprints for all kinds of siege weapons including the balista! great stuff!!bent one www.trebuchet.com Paul I found this for you bent one, I don't know how accurate it is.
